Ancient Watermelon
Ancient Watermelon
(Citrullus lanatus)
An extraordinary heirloom with a unique story, originally discovered in the 1920s inside a woven pot in a cave along Arizona’s Mogollon Rim. Vines are vigorous and highly fruitful, producing sweet, flavourful melons that thrive in warm conditions.
• Type: Watermelon
• Latin Name: Citrullus lanatus
• Fruit Shape: Oval
• Days to Maturity: ~85 days
• Seeds per pack: ~30
• Growing Notes: Requires warm soil and full sun. Provide ample space for vigorous vines. Consistent moisture improves fruit size and sweetness.
