Edible pod peas were developed in Europe in the 16th century. In France they are called ‘mangetout’ pois. Peas are a cool weather crop and should be planted when the soil can be worked in the spring in good compost for best development.
Sugar snap peas are a vigorous vining pea and should be provided with a trellis to support 4 to 6 ft vines.
